Collaborating with Designer Ava Manukyan

Born in 1966 in Tehran, Iran, raised in Armenia. Mrs. Manukyan received her higher education in Yerevan, Armenia with a BA in Industrial Design and Fine Arts from the Academy of Fine Arts.

With the fall of Soviet Union in 1992 she moved to Los Angeles, California and began her career in the Fashion and Jewelry Industries. She worked as a fashion product designer and inspirational public speaker for three long, successful decades.

Ava Manukyan, designer of The Heritage Scarf Collection, finds her inspiration through the cultural heritage of the world, and is sought after for her refined esthetics, innovative designs, and her expertise in the fashion and jewelry industries.

She is credited for her artistic investment in 1928 Jewelry and Brighton Collectibles. She was the sole designer of Antiquities and Vatican Library brands, which were sold in high-end department stores, and fashion boutiques throughout the United States and internationally.

In 2000, Antiquities was announced as “Best Jewelry Line of the Year” by Harrod’s, London.

Mrs. Manukyan has also had the privilege to design jewelry for Joan Rivers Worldwide, Smithsonian Foundation, Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, Walt Disney Products.

In 2020, Ava joined her mentor, business partner, and husband Yesai Manukyan, who is a founder of Manukyan Design Studio. Together they launched their own product line, through which they share their passion to highlight our national identity and cultural heritage with deep understanding and appreciation.

The Heritage Scarf Collection project would not have been made possible without Mrs. Manukyan’s talents, the vision of our dear Primate Archishop Hovnan Derderian; without the constant support and trust of our Parish Priest, Fr. Khajag Shahbazyan who was with us every step of the way; and dedication of the ladies of the St. Leon Ladies' Society.

All proceeds from the Heritage Scarf Collection will be donated to the active projects of the St. Leon Ghevontiants Armenian Cathedral.
