“Primate of the Eastern Diocese Celebrant at St. Leon (Srbots Ghevontiants) Armenian Cathedral

Last week, the Diocesan Primate Archbishop Hovnan Derderian welcomed to the Western Diocese his brothers in Christ, His Grace Bishop Abgar Hovakimyan, Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Church of Canada and the Very Rev. Fr. Mesrop Parsamyan, Primate of the Eastern Diocese of the Armenian Church of North America. The three primates of North America met on the occasion of the celebration of the 125th anniversary of establishment of the Diocese of the Armenian Church of North America.

For the first time since his election as Primate of the Eastern Diocese of the Armenian Church of North America, our sister diocese, the Very Rev. Fr. Mesrop Parsamyan was the celebrant at St. Leon (Srbots Ghevontiants) Armenian Cathedral on Sunday, August 6, 2023.

Fr. Mesrop was introduced to the congregation by our Diocesan Primate Archbishop Hovnan Derderian.

His Grace Bishop Abgar Hovakimyan, Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Church of Canada also participated in the service.”
